It applies to our website, our Points Strategy Assessment call with Claire, the written assessment we deliver, our emails and newsletter, and any other content we publish. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

Educational and informational only — not professional advice

PointsAssessment is a publisher and consulting service. We are not financial advisors, investment advisors, tax advisors, accountants, credit counselors, credit-repair organizations, or attorneys, and we are not registered or licensed as any of those. Everything we provide — the assessment call, the assessment, and any content on this site — is for general educational and informational purposes about credit card rewards strategy. It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting, credit-repair, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to enter into any particular financial transaction. We are a publisher and educator — not a finder, broker, or lender

PointsAssessment provides education and independent analysis only. We are not a credit "finder," lead generator, loan or credit broker, credit services organization, mortgage broker, or lender, and we are not a party to, and take no part in, any credit application or credit transaction. Specifically:

  • We do not arrange, broker, negotiate, solicit, or process any credit card application for you, and we do not submit any application on your behalf.
  • We do not transmit, sell, forward, or hand your personal or financial information to any card issuer or card-affiliate network as part of any application or for them to market to you. The links in your assessment are informational only — when you choose to apply, you do so directly with the issuer, on the issuer's own website, under the issuer's own terms, with no involvement from us.
  • We do not match you to a particular issuer in a brokered or negotiated deal. We give you our independent educational analysis; the decision whether to apply, and the application itself, are entirely and independently yours.
  • You pay us for educational analysis, not for arranging credit. Any affiliate commission we may earn is standard publisher affiliate advertising paid by the issuer or network; it does not make us your agent, broker, or intermediary, and it does not make you our client for any regulated financial service.

Nothing we provide is credit repair, debt relief, debt settlement, or credit counseling.

No guarantee of credit card approval

We do not issue credit cards and we do not control approval decisions. Whether you are approved for any card depends on the issuer's own criteria, your credit history, your income, and other factors outside our control. We do not guarantee that you will be approved for any card we mention. Applying for a credit card may result in a credit inquiry and may affect your credit score; that is between you and the issuer.

No guarantee of results, rewards, or savings

The rewards, points, miles, cash back, or travel value any business actually realizes depend on its own spending, how it uses its cards, the card issuer's terms, and changes to rewards programs — all of which can change at any time and are outside our control. Any figures, ranges, point values, or examples we mention are illustrative estimates, not promises, and are not a guarantee of any specific result. Travel-value figures reflect historical points valuations and are not guaranteed to be available when you book. Individual results vary. Past results — including any described by other customers — are not a promise of your results.

Claire is an artificial intelligence

Claire, our "AI Card Strategist," is an automated artificial-intelligence voice agent, not a human being. Your assessment call is conducted by AI, and we disclose this before and during the call. A human reviews every written assessment before it is sent to you. While we work hard to keep our card knowledge accurate and human-check every assessment, automated systems can make mistakes, and card terms change frequently — always confirm a card's current terms, fees, and rewards directly with the issuer before you apply.

Affiliate and referral commissions

We may earn affiliate commissions when you apply for a card through links in our assessments, emails, or website, and we may earn referral fees when we refer you to a third-party partner — in both cases at no extra cost to you. Our website, assessments, and emails may contain links to third-party websites, card issuers, and partners. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, services, privacy practices, or conduct of any third party. Following a link is at your own risk, and your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that third party.
